She has a particular interest in the use of technology in the workplace, including the rise of AI, machine learning and wearable devices and the legal implications of this.
Kathryn acts for fast-growth, typically PE-backed clients in the B2B software, technology consulting, e-commerce, digital media, travel and professional services sectors.
In recent years her focus has been on the application of the Off Payroll Working Rules / IR35 to industries reliant on contractors (including IT and telecoms) as well as advice on employment status for platforms in the gig economy. In addition, she specialises in the application of TUPE to outsourcings, advising on restrictive covenants and team moves, handling the employment aspects of corporate transactions, providing advice on restructurings and redundancies and assisting clients with employment tribunal and high court litigation.
